Lake Daniels
Lake Daniels queens birthday weekend 06. Lake Daniels tramp starts off about 15 minutes drive west of Maruia springs on the Lewis Pass.

Only about 3 hours up and 3 hours down. As You can see. the weather wasn't quite up to standard.

The hut. Room for 32 apparently, although that would be a tight fit.
We spent some time reflecting on things.

Yeah nice photos. Lake Daniels holds many fond memories for me. I can confirm that 32 people and more can be lodged in the hut. Went once in peak season and much top-and-tailing ensued, as well as people tenting out the front. Much raucous drunk-middle-aged-people-round-the-campfire noise also ensued. I recall some chick coming in and asking me and Meg if we had any weed. We were about 12 and terribly innocent (back in those days) and a bit weirded out. Yeah, fun times.
